Hewlett-Packard Wins Fiscal Agency Contract in Rhode Island and 2 Other Dow Movers to Watch

Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE:HPQ): Current price $22.38

HP Enterprise Services on Tuesday announced that the Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services has OK’d a $89.9 million five-year contract for HP to continue as the fiscal agent for Rhode Island’s Medicaid program and additional state departments. Through the terms of the extension, HP will implement several enhancements to existing state systems, including migration of Rhode Island’s Medicaid data center operations to a cutting-edge HP data center. The accord also contains three option years that are not included in the contract value.


Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE): Current price $27.95

In a Tuesday press release, Pfizer Inc. invited investors and the general public to listen to a webcast of a discussion with Executive Vice President of Business Operations and Chief Financial Officer Frank D’Amelio at the Morgan Stanley Global Healthcare Conference on September 10 at 4:05 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.


International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM): Current price $182.81

IBM shares are up modestly Tuesday on word that the company finalized its purchase of the privately held Trusteer, which makes fraud protection and security software for businesses. IBM agreed to acquire Trusteer on August 15, but financials were not reported then. The deal adds to IBM’s growing security portfolio, said general manager of IBM security systems Brendan Hannigan in the company’s press release.
