LDK Solar (NYSE:LDK) shares are surprisingly down 1.13% in after-hours trading today despite having had significant gains to the tune of 6.45% or 43 cents a share during regular hours after announcing a first-quarter profit increase of $135.4 million, well above last year’s $7.2 million increase for the same quarter. That’s a difference of 95 cents per American Depository share as opposed to 6 cents per ADS. Revenue was also up, $766.3 million this year versus $347.6 million last. Projected revenue for LDK’s second quarter is $710-760 million.
Both Intel Corp. (NASDAQ:INTC) and Altera Corp. (NASDAQ:ALTR) had decent gains today that continued in after-hours trading. Shares are up 0.18% and 0.09% respectively. The chip market loser of the day was Applied Materials Inc. (NASDAQ:AMAT), already down 1.07% after hours, nearly breaking even after showing regular hours gains of 1.09%.
Hovnanian (NYSE:HOV) shares are down 5.56% in after-hours today after showing small gains during regular hours. They are expected to report a loss of 53 cents a share for their fiscal second quarter and a 17% decrease in revenue.
