Bell Rings: HTC Punching Through Apple’s Blocks

Sprint (NYSE:S) announced that customers who pre-ordered the HTC Evo 4G phones would soon be receiving the phone as the company intends to start shipping by Thursday, despite the overhang of a patent dispute which is delaying a full launch of the product.

“Sprint expects to begin shipping HTC EVO 4G LTE for arrival on or around Thursday, May 24, to customers who pre-ordered the device online from Sprint,” Sprint said in a statement. “We will provide details on the full national launch as soon as possible.”

It may be recalled that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) obtained an exclusion order against HTC for the aforementioned phone and the HTC One X, to be marketed by AT&T (NYSE:T). This means all shipments by HTC have to be inspected by the U.S. Customs Department prior to their release within the U.S.
