IBM Finalizes CSL Purchase and 2 Other Dow Movers to Watch

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE: IBM): Current price $182.50

On Friday, IBM said that it has finalized its purchase of CSL International, which supplies virtualization management tech for the buyer’s zEnterprise System. CSL International was a privately-held firm headquartered in Herzliya Pituach, Israel. The acquisition intensifies the consolidation and cloud capabilities of IBM zEnterprise tech by offering simplified set-up and management of the virtualization environment. Financials of the transaction were not divulged.


3M Co. (NYSE:MMM): Current price $113.52

3M Fire Protection Products has debuted 3M FIP 1-Step Firestop Foam, which is a UL-listed breakthrough tech that satisfies the International Building Code for passive fire protection. The foam gives contractors an alternative to mineral wool, bricks and the runny, ineffective foams, and allows firestop installations to be completed as much as three times more rapidly than the traditional methods. With a non-runny formula, the foam remains in place and also expands consistently, up to five times.


The Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA): Current Price $104.06

According to a Reuters report, Indonesia’s Lion Group, whose budget carrier Lion Air operates in an extremely competitive region, will invest $250 million to establish its second maintenance hub while it takes delivery of over 500 jets from Airbus and Boeing. The hub will be built on the Indonesian island of Batam, which lies only 12.5 miles from Singapore, and should be finished by the end of 2016, said officials to reporters while on a tour of the site on Thursday.
