IBM Lands 10-Year Accord with Italy’s UniCredit and 2 Other Dow Movers to Watch
International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE: IBM): Current price $194.33
On Friday, IBM and the commercial bank UniCredit reached a “multi-billion dollar, 10-year agreement,” through which IBM will supply UniCredit with cloud-based infrastructure support across Europe, according to The Motley Fool. Pursuant to the terms, UniCredit’s Business Integrated Solutions division and IBM will form a separate operating division, so as to provide information tech in support of both firms, together with marketing the new unit’s services to other institutions. Financials of the transaction were not divulged.
Alcoa, Inc. (NYSE:AA): Current price $8.09
Alcoa reports Roy Harvey has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer for its Global Primary Products arm, effective immediately. He will concentrate on the daily operations of the company’s 22 aluminum smelters and nine alumina refineries on a global basis, along with bauxite assets in Brazil, Australia, Jamaica, Suriname, Guinea, and soon Saudi Arabia. Before his promotion, Harvey served as GPP Chief Financial Officer. Beyond that, he is a member of Alcoa’s Executive Council, which is the senior leadership team on strategic direction for Alcoa.
McDonald’s Corp. (NYSE:MCD): Current price $100.22
McDonald’s board has declared a quarterly cash dividend of 77 cents per share of common stock, payable on September 17 to shareholders of record at the close on September 3. The company will release second quarter results prior to the market open on July 22, and will host an investor webcast as well.
