In Nairobi on Friday, IBM and President Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, officially inaugurated the first commercial tech research facility in Africa. The 2,000 m2 facility sports one of the continent’s most powerful, cloud-enabled computing hubs, enabling IBM researchers the ability to analyze and obtain insight from huge amounts of data in the search for solutions to Africa’s most pressing challenges, like healthcare, energy, water, transportation, agriculture, financial inclusion and public safety.

AT&T said Friday that it now has available the new Nokia Lumia 1520, featuring a 6-inch, 1080p full HD display along with a 20-megapixel PureView sensor. The Lumia 1520 will go for $199.99 with a two-year agreement or $27 per month with AT&T Next, and may be pre-ordered exclusively from AT&T starting Friday at www.att.com/lumia1520, or at an AT&T store. An expanded memory version of the Lumia 1520, with 32 gigabytes of internal memory, will be coming soon to AT&T.
