Kimberly-Clark Makes Acquisition and 4 Stocks At 52-Week Highs

Electro Rent has posted its third quarter earnings at 21 cents against one estimate at 23 cents. Shares closed down 2.16 percent on Tuesday at $18.08, and have been traded in a 52-week range of $13.51 to $18.73.
Hertz Global Holding (NYSE:HTZ): Closing price $23.41
Hertz reiterates its revenue at between $10.85 billion and $10.95 billion, with consensus at $10.9 billion. Data is from the investor day slides presentation. Shares closed up 6.85 percent on the day at $23.41, having been traded in a 52-week range of $10.22 to $22.68.
Kimberly-Clark Corp. (NYSE:KMB): Closing price $99.79
The company announced on Tuesday its purchase of the anesthesia business of Life-Tech, which is a medical device maker based in Texas. The acquisition is comprised of needles, catheters and accessories associated with peripheral nerve block procedures. The newly-bought assets will become part of Kimberly-Clark’s Health Care division and will be added to K-C Health Care’s ON-Q array of products. Other business units of Life-Tech are not included in this transaction, the financials of which were not divulged. Shares closed up 1.9 percent on Tuesday at $99.79, and have been traded in a 52-week range of $73.33 to $98.11.
LHC Group (NASDAQ:LHCG): Closing price $22.40
LHC Group has purchased the assets of Infirmary Hospice Care in the State of Alabama, which is a Certificate of Need State for hospice services. The acquired hospice agency, located in Mobile, will still operate under the name Infirmary Hospice Care through the remainder of 2013 and will serve Mobile and Baldwin counties. The present annual revenue for this agency is roughly $2.5 million. Shares closed up 3.46 percent on Tuesday at $22.40, having been traded in a 52-week range of $15.69 to $22.86.
Life Technologies (NASDAQ:LIFE): Closing price $65.75
Thermo Fisher could make an offer of between $65 and $70 per share for Life Technologies, says Reuters. Shares closed up 1.83 percent on the day at $65.75, and have been traded in a 52-week range of $39.73 to $65.84.
