McDonald’s Corp. (NYSE:MCD): Current price $96.43
Just as McDonald’s conceded that its customer service is not doing very well and that it has perhaps been bringing out too many new menu items too fast, the fast-food giant is now debuting an experiment with building your own burgers, according to The Orange County Register. The company began testing the upscale burgers in restaurants in Laguna Niguel, California, and in Illinois, in which diners have a choice of more than 20 toppings and sauces, according to the publication.
Coca-Cola Co. (NYSE:KO): Current price $40.05
Coca-Cola announced Friday that its system is donating more than $2.5 million in cash and in-kind contributions to support disaster relief and recovery efforts in the Philippines following the devastation from Typhoon Haiyan. Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE:XOM): Current price $94.58
ExxonMobil shares are near the top of their 52-week range on Friday after the release of Warren Buffett’s quarterly update. On Thursday, Berkshire Hathaway reported its 13-F filing for the quarter ended September 30, in which a new $3.75 billion stake was revealed following the purchase of 40.1 million shares in the oil company. However, because of Exxon’s mass with about $408 billion in market capitalization, Buffett’s position represents only 0.9 percent of the firm’s shares.
