Merck Announces Data and Study on Isentress, and 2 Other Dow Movers to Watch

Merck has announced that it is presenting pharmacokinetic data this week about investigational formulations of a once-daily dose of Isentress at the European AIDS Conference. Based on the results of this evaluation, along with other data, Merck intends to begin a Phase III clinical study on a once-daily dosing regimen of Isentress early next year, pending review by regulatory agencies. The drug is administered twice daily, according to the approved prescribing information.
UnitedHealth Group Inc. (NYSE:UNH): Current price $75.12
Health insurer UnitedHealth, the biggest health insurance company in the United States, reported Tuesday that it is extending and broadening its relationship with the AARP and will continue to offer AARP-branded Medicare and insurance products. The group said that its new arrangement with AARP runs through 2020 and includes UnitedHealth’s Optum segment, which supplies services liker tech outsourcing and pharmacy benefits management. Financials of the agreement in principle were not divulged.
