Microsoft Will Give Early Windows 8.1 Access to Certain Groups and 2 More Heavily Traded Stocks to Follow

Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT): Current price $31.65

Microsoft on Monday gave in and decided to allow third-party developers and enterprise customers early access to Windows 8.1, that is, immediately. They need early versions so they may test the software and ensure that their Windows apps would not “blow it up.”

The next windows version is set for release on October 18 and will consist of a free update for Windows 8. The new operating system will allow users to boot their PC directly into the old-fashioned desktop mode rather than the new tiled interface, which was created mainly for touchscreen computers and tablets. Actually, Microsoft has always released new versions of Windows to these groups a few weeks early via its Microsoft Developer Network and TechNet (enterprise) subscription services.
