Mitsubishi Heavy Wants to Build 777X Wings for Boeing and 2 Other Dow Movers to Watch

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries says significant cost savings may be realized in part of its behind-the-scenes proposal to Boeing to build the wings of its next jetliner in Japan, according to a knowledgeable person. Details of the unsolicited proposal came out on the eve of a key vote by 31,000 Boeing workers on a contract that could decide whether the 777X is built in Washington state or elsewhere — perhaps Japan. The airplane-building giant has said that should its machinists turn aside a proposed eight-year labor pact, it will open discussions with alternative locations for the assembly of the jet’s fuselage and wings.

According to Forbes magazine, Wall Street anticipates a larger profit for Cisco, when it posts its first-quarter results on Wednesday. Consensus expects a profit of 47 cents per share, which would represent a rise from 44 cents year-over-year. Analysts predict earnings of $1.94 per share for the fiscal year, with revenue at $12.35 billion for the quarter, 4 percent above the 2012 total of $11.88 billion. For the year, revenue is forecast at $50.82 billion.
The Walt Disney Co. (NYSE:DIS): Current price $67.87
The former Walt Disney executive Guenther Hake has been named by Oriental DreamWorks as its chief executive. The company is a joint venture between DreamWorks Animation SKG, China Media Capital, Shanghai Media Group, and Shanghai Alliance Investment Ltd. The joint venture said in a Tuesday statement that Hake, a former Disney managing director for its Greater China consumer products division, was chosen based on his “deep understanding” of Chinese culture and “global brand experience.”
