In the scramble to get more company listings, NASDAQ (NASDAQ:NDAQ) scored a big one against the NYSE (NYSE:NYX).

Viacom (NYSE:VIA) has voluntarily decided to move its stock listing from NYSE to NASDAQ, citing “cost-effectiveness” without hampering execution and liquidity. Effective December 1, 2011, Viacom’s Class A common stock will trade on NASDAQ under the symbol “VIA” and its Class B common stock will trade under the symbol “VIAB” (VIA.B).
