Nokia Unveils Its Updated Lumia 1020 Phone and 2 Other Hot Stocks to Watch

Nokia Corp. (NYSE:NOK): Current price $4.16

Making the 41 megapixel camera the focus of the Lumia 1020, Nokia will likely emphasize the camera’s features on Thursday, according to Ina Fried at AllThingsD. She wrote that Nokia has learned a lot since the phone debuted, as it adds image stabilization, improved software, and an updated sensor. The product will arrive later in July in the United States on AT&T and then in other global markets, including China. It will sell domestically at $299.99 with a new contract, which is fairly high price for a high-end smartphone but not quite unheard of, said Fried.

Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU): Current price $1.89

On Thursday, Alcatel-Lucent and Telkom Indonesia announced an accord for Alcatel-Lucent to construct a next-generation agile optical network in the Kalimantan and Sulawesi areas along with the greater Jakarta region, from which comes about half of Telkom Indonesia’s data traffic. The fiber-optic network will be based on converged wavelength division multiplexing and optical transport tech, and will permit Telkom Indonesia to supply 100 gigabits-per-second capability.

Regions Financial Corp. (NYSE:RF): Current price $9.80

Regions shares have been reiterated at TheStreet Ratings as a Buy with a ratings score of B. The rating report, in part, explained that the stock is powered by its impressive earnings growth of 64.28 percent along with other important driving factors. Shares have jumped by 44.02 percent during the past year, outperforming the rise in the S&P 500 Index during the same period. The report predicts that the stock should continue to move higher though it has already enjoyed notable gains in the past year.
