In addition to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics Unemployment report, we will be adding some more color from online labor market leader ODesk.
In October, ODesk reports the following highlights:
- The mobile category is going strong: in particular, demand for Android skills was up 710% in October vs. October 2009. This data jibes with a report released yesterday regarding the fact that Android has just become the number one mobile operating system in the U.S. with huge growth over the past year. A significant opportunity thus exists for Android developers.
- Workers familiar with Facebook have 190% more opportunities today over this time one year ago.
- Globalization embraced by SMBs: demand for Translators is up 340%
