Qualcomm, Penske, RSC, Six Flags, Synopsys Achieve New Stock Price Highs Today
Qualcomm Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM): ParkerVision (NASDAQ:PRKR) announced that U.S. District Judge Roy B. Dalton Jr. has established a schedule for upcoming hearings and other case deadlines in ParkerVision Inc. v. Qualcomm Inc., No. 3-2011-cv-00719, a patent infringement lawsuit filed by ParkerVision against San-Diego based Qualcomm, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM). The patent claim construction hearing, also called a Markman hearing, is set for August 10, 2012, at which time the judge will be asked to issue rulings regarding the language and interpretation of the ParkerVision patents at issue in the case. Markman hearings are considered a critical event in a patent lawsuit. The upcoming Markman ruling will define the property rights for the technologies that ParkerVision has invented and has the right to exclusively practice. The court’s Markman hearing decisions will drive and inform many aspects of the litigation. The jury trial in this case is scheduled to begin on Aug. 5, 2013. The shares closed at $61.58, down $0.13 or 0.21% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $45.98 to $61.99.
Penske Automotive (NYSE:PAG): Penske Automotive reports Q4 cont ops EPS 47c vs. consensus 40c. The shares closed at $23.58, down $1.19 or 4.8% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $14.87 to $24.78.
Rsc Holdings Inc. (NYSE:RRR): United Rentals (NYSE:URI) and RSC Holdings (NYSE:RRR) announced that United Rentals received a “no-action letter” from the Canadian Competition Bureau indicating that the Bureau does not intend to oppose completion of the previously announced acquisition of RSC Holdings by United Rentals. The receipt of the “no-action letter” satisfies one of the conditions to the closing of the proposed transaction. Completion of the proposed transaction remains subject to certain other closing conditions, including, among others, approvals of the stockholders of United Rentals and RSC Holdings. The shares closed at $21.94, down $0.15 or 0.68% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $6.26 to $22.32.
Six Flags Entertainm (NYSE:SIX): Says cash flow will be returned via dividends, buybacks. The shares closed at $46.44, down $0.98 or 2.07% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $24.72 to $47.80.
Synopsys (NASDAQ:SNPS): Synopsys and Arteris, the inventor and leading supplier of network-on-chip interconnect IP solutions, announced a collaboration that enables models of Arteris’ FlexNoC interconnect IP to be used with Synopsys’ Platform Architect environment, offering system designers the ability to simulate realistic system-level performance of their end product architectures. The shares closed at $30.21, down $0.16 or 0.53% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $21.37 to $30.37.
