Santarus Announces Study Results and 2 Stocks that Have Hit 52-Week Highs

China Nuokang Bio (NASDAQ:NKBP):  China Nuokang Bio-Pharmaceutical announced that they have entered into an Agreement and Plan of Merger with Kingbird Investment Inc. (Parent), owned by Yuhuan Zhu, wife of Baizhong Xue, the company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and Kingbird Mergerco. Inc., a Cayman Islands exempted firm with limited liability and a direct wholly-owned subsidiary of Parent. China Nuokang Bio-Pharma will be privately purchased for 72.5c per share, $5.80 per ADS. Their shares closed at $5.28, up $0.5 or 10.46% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $2.25 to $5.08.

Santarus (NASDAQ:SNTS):  Santarus announced that results from their CORE I clinical study of Uceris in Ulcerative Colitis, has been published online, in the journal Gastroenterology. The results from CORE I indicated that 9 mg of the drug Uceris, had a statistically significant benefit over the placebo used in the primary endpoint of combined clinical and endoscopic remission, during the eighth week, among patients with active, or mild to moderate ulcerative colitis. The Federal Drug Administration is currently reviewing the company’s use of this drug for those people with active,or mild to moderate Ulcerative Colitis, that is in remission.  A target action date has been set for January 16, 2013. Their shares closed at $8.85, up $0.09 or 1.03% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $2.56 to $9.01.

Wizzard Software Corporation (AMEX:WZE):   Wizzard Software announced, this morning, the closing of  their acquisition of Digital Entertainment International, FAB, a distributor of digital entertainment media in Asia. Wizzard expects the acquisition to boost their 2012 adjusted earnings per share and significantly affect their fourth quarter results. They are  trading up 29c, or 5.93%, to $5.18 in late-day trading, off  their intra-day high of $5.70. Their shares closed at $5.19, up $0.3 or 6.13% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $1.32 to $5.49.
