Sempra Energy’s (NYSE:SRE) subsidiary, San Diego Gas & Electric today said that power was restored in San Diego following a transmission problem that led to a 12-hour blackout. San Diego Gas & Electric said that electricity was restored to 1.4 million customers following the power outage that began late Thursday.
According to the utility, the blackout ranks as the most widespread power outage in its history. The Wall Street Journal reported that the power outage was a system issue.
