Foiled Facebook IPO Investor: You Can Disrupt Wall St. Now!
The current wave of social media IPOs PROVES Silicon Valley has an incredible opportunity screaming to get fixed: create capital markets without all the debacle-force friction.
Facebook’s (NASDAQ:FB) IPO now follows Groupon’s (NASDAQ:GRPN) as an absolute embarrassment to U.S. capital markets. First, the Nasdaq (NASDAQ:NDAQ) botched the first day of trading. Now we’re learning Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) and Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) allegedly gave private analysis to a subset of clients pre-IPO. This is completely unacceptable, inferior quality, and even law breaking business activity by some of the supposed best and brightest business people, lawyers, and engineers on Earth.

However, every stumble and fumble is another person’s opportunity. Clearly, the NYC-centric capital market employees didn’t get a big enough message after the dot-com bust or housing market collapse. The culture is one where the people in charge simply go back to their $5,000 an hour lawyers and ask how they can suck the value out of the next asset class. As Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) may prove, the culture of greed and hubris is so strong, these idiots can’t even follow $5,000 hour legal advice regarding the most basic SEC pre-IPO regulations.
So, what am I proposing? Silicon Valley salivate, no, have an orgasm over the insane amount of money they can make DISRUPTING the highly corrupt and inefficient legacy players in capital markets. Of course, this is no small task; but Silicon Valley is the only place in the known Universe where an entire region of entrepreneurs have the guts and passion to attack humanity’s largest problems.
The past 12+ years have been completely driven by a series of epic scams perpetrated on Wall Street. If we want to make the world a better place (yes, all these scams have affected the entire world), DISRUPT Wall Street NOW!!!!!!
