Sirius Combines Satellite & Internet Radio In Sync AppLink and 2 Other Hot Stocks to Watch

Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ:SIRI): Current price $3.29

Sirius XM is joining its satellite radio and Sirius Internet Radio together in its Ford’s Sync AppLink connected car platform, which will make it possible to receive Sirius XM feeds in a Ford; the live channel feed and an on-demand programming and tailored MySXM music streams from a cellular connection will pass through the user’s smartphone. Customers will likely be able to choose either or both services, considering which subscription or subscriptions they purchase.


Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU): Current price $13.71

Micron has posted a better-than-anticipated quarterly profit, thinks to higher prices for its memory chips used in PCs, mobile handsets and tablet devices. It is expected that the prices should remain stable or rise further through 2013. The firm said that average selling prices of its dynamic random access memory chips, which are primarily used in PCs and which comprised 39 percent of revenue in 2012, jumped by 16 percent during the quarter. Analysts at Jefferies said in a pre-earnings note that memory supply constraints have pushed up prices this year, with DRAM prices more than doubling.


Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD): Current price$2.925

On Thursday morning, Rite Aid reported its fiscal fourth quarter earnings of $89.7 million, or 9 cents per share, while revenue fell to $6.29 billion. The company said that even though revenue did slip in the quarter, it was due to more generic drugs being sold that carry higher margins. This most recent fiscal years saw the first profitable year for Rite Aid since 2007. However, even with the positive report, shares of Rite Aid were down almost 6 percent in mid-morning trading.
