Analyst Ratings: seven out of 12 analysts surveyed (58.3%) have a buy rating on Sohu.com.. This is below the mean analyst rating of 10 competitors, which average 67.2% buy ratings.
A Look Back: In the third quarter, profit rose 14.2% to $46.8 million ($1.17 a share) from $41 million ($1.01 a share) the year earlier, exceeding analyst expectations. Revenue rose 41.9% to $232.9 million from $164.1 million.
The company has enjoyed double-digit year-over-year percentage revenue growth for the past four quarters. Over that span, the company has averaged growth of 35%, with the biggest boost coming in the most recent quarter when revenue rose 41.9% from the year earlier quarter.
The company has seen net income rise in three straight quarters. Net income rose 32.3% in the second quarter and 48.4% in the first quarter.
Stock Price Performance: During December 30, 2011 to January 31, 2012, the stock price had risen $9.61 (19.2%) from $50 to $59.61.
