Study Reveals the Jobs Where People Are Most Likely to Cheat on Their Husband or Wife

In a perfect world, we’d say that everyone meets their loved one in their twenties, settles down with 2.5 kids, then buys a one-acre plot just outside the city where they’d live happily ever after. Unfortunately, that’s not the case for many modern-day Americans. Far too many people struggle to balance a successful career with a relationship simultaneously and the divorce rate is higher than ever.

Are you doing all you can to save your marriage? According to a new survey conducted by married dating site, Ashley Madison, cheating and career choice are totally vibing. In fact, some would say they’re Facebook official. Ashley Madison polled current site users and found people with certain careers are more likely to be unfaithful to their partners.

We’re more than happy to tell you what they are, but please, don’t shoot the messenger. Here are the 14 most common careers where people cheat.

  • Infidelity rate for men: 1%
  • Infidelity rate for women: 1%

When it comes to those willing to admit to seeking an extramarital affair, roughly 2% of the Ashley Madison respondents worked in politics. The political arena is hardly short of scandal at any moment in time, so if anything, this 15th place ranking seems a little low. But no one ever said politicians were honest, right?
