The convenience of two-day, free shipping is what entices many shoppers into joining Amazon Prime. However, as a Prime member, chances are you’re not aware of other considerable, sometimes surprising membership perks. Be sure to get the most bang for your 99 bucks by checking out these eight Amazon Prime membership benefits. Not all of these perks translate into money savings, but for the ones that do, we did a tally and found you’ll save at least $52 per year from these Prime membership perks.
1. Access Lightning Deals 30 minutes early
Every day, Amazon offers Lightning Deals, which feature heavily discounted merchandise such as electronics, toys, clothes, household items, and more. These deals are available, one per customer, either until the promotional period for the deal ends or until all the inventory is gone. Sales usually last two to four hours. Prime members get access to many of these deals 30 minutes before non-Prime members. When this is the case, you’ll see “Prime Early Access Deal” underneath the product photo.

3. Share your membership with 1 household member
Does your spouse or another adult in the household have his or her own Amazon account? Well, you can link the accounts and share your Amazon Prime benefits with that one other person. Each of the two people will keep their own separate account while sharing the Prime benefits. (Amazon used to allow for a Prime user to add up to four other people to the account, but that changed in 2015.)
