Tech Business Review: Marvell And SanDisk UNITE, Nokia’s Windows Phone SHARE
Solid-state drive competitors Marvell Technology Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) and SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) are partnering in order to provide a low-power server solution that contains an ARM-based Marvell processor and a SanDisk drive. The former is assertively targeting the younger ARM server market and has made deals with Dell and Taiwan’s MiTAC.

Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) now boasts a 59 percent share of the worldwide Windows Phone user base, according to the applications analytics company Localytics. This number compares with 21 percent for HTC, and the 13 percent of the Android major Samsung. However, IDC recently calculated that the Windows Phone had just a 3.5 percent share of world smartphone sales in the second quarter, and comScore has WP’s share of the Japanese smartphone base at 3 percent, far below 64 percent for Android (NASDAQ:GOOG) and 32 percent for the iPhone (NASDAQ:AAPL).
