July deals are here, so it’s time to go online or head to your nearest department store. Retailers offer big discounts before and after the 4th of July holiday, so get ready for some serious saving.
Savings.com DealPro Kim Danger, founder of Frugal Bites and Mommysavers, shared tips with The Cheat Sheet for getting a bargain. Here are three categories and three stores where you can save a bundle during the month of July.
Hold summer barbecues in style. Now is the time to get some snazzy new furniture for your patio or deck. If you’re looking to give your outdoor space a fresh look, you can achieve it without having to spend an arm and a leg.
“Outdoor furniture manufacturers traditionally release new products in August, so retailers will be looking to clear out the old stock. July is a good time to buy patio and outdoor furniture at a discount, and you’ll still have a couple months of warm weather during which to enjoy it!” Danger told The Cheat Sheet.
Complete your summer wardrobe with a few seasonal staples. You’ll save a ton now that retailers are making room for new inventory.
“Summer clothing and swimsuit prices start to drop around mid-season in July, so now’s a great time to stock up. If you’re looking for fully discounted prices, check back in August. Oh, and guys, if you’re looking for a warm-weather suit, now’s the time to be looking!” said Danger.
No outfit is complete without statement jewelry. You can pick up discounted jewels right now since stores are seeing a drop-off in demand following major events like graduation season and Mother’s Day.
“At this time of year, there’s a lull in major gifting holidays, so demand for items like jewelry is low. As such, prices will be low, so now’s the time to find great jewelry deals,” said Danger.
Stores to Watch
You’ll also want to keep an eye out for deals and sales at major retailers. July is one time of the year when stores like to hold major blowout sales. Video games and clothing items will be hot right now. Danger advises shoppers to watch out for these sales:
Steam, a video game retailer, will host the Steam Summer Sale during July. The sale is very popular among gamers, and due to its popularity, we may see similar sales happen at other video game retailers as well.
Nordstrom’s anniversary sale will start on July 17th and last through August 2nd. During this sale, they offer discounted prices on new, fall styles for men, women, and kids. If you’re a Nordstrom cardholder, you get early access to the sale, starting July 9th.
Target’s second toy clearance sale of the year will happen in July. Toys can be marked down as much as 70%, but most discounts are either 30% or 50% off. If you’re someone who really likes to plan ahead for the holidays, shopping this sale is a great way to save on holiday gifts!
