The Week Ahead: Big Econ Data on Tap, Solar Companies and Urban Outfitters Earnings

The Greek debt drama will take a back seat this week as U.S. market watchers have a full docket of economic data to keep them busy. The effect of gas prices on retail sales, energy costs and Tuesday’s Federal Reserve meeting will be topics of conversation early in the week.

A few earnings reports will also trickle in during the week, but nothing notable.

Over in Asia, Japan (Tuesday) and India’s (Thursday) central banks will wrap up meetings and make interest rate and asset-purchase program decisions. China’s parliament, the National People’s Congress, will concludes their meetings which began last week  and on Friday, India’s Finance Minister will present the annual budget.

In China, China Mobil Ltd (NYSE:CHL) and Tencent Holdings will release full-year earnings reports this week.

Monday: Federal Budget.

Tuesday: NFIB Small Business Survey, Retail Sales, Business Inventories and Job openings and labor turnover.

Wednesday: Import prices and current account deficit.

Thursday: Jobless claims, NY Fed Empire State manufacturing survey, Producer Price Index and Philadelphia Fed manufacturing survey.

Friday: Consumer Price Index, Industrial Production, Capacity Utilization and University of Michigan consumer sentiment (preliminary) survey.
