The Dow Jones Industrial Average (NYSE:DIA) is down today 0.62% and stands at 11,433. The stocks below are among the lagging and declining performers today.

Bank of America (NYSE:BAC): Bank of America has been particularly risk-averse when it comes to new loans compared to competitors like Wells Fargo. More tellingly, Bank of America has recently moved its derivative exposure from Merrill Lynch to its bank unit. Chris Whalen of Reuters neatly summarized the suspicion about this move: “Is Bank of America Preparing for a Chapter 11?” Bank of America is down 2.97% today.

American Express Company (NYSE:AXP): Even though American Express beat estimates, the stock is back down to the same point it was before the company’s earning announcement. American Express is down 2.17%.

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT): Microsoft may look to buy Yahoo! again, but it won’t be the only player involved in the acquisition like it was in 2008. Microsoft is down 2.32%.
