The Dow (NYSE:DIA) barely managed to move on Thursday, but these 4 stocks are having no trouble making waves …
1) Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc. (NASDAQ:RRGB): Shares are red hot in after hour trading. The company reported a fourth quarter revenue increase of 5.4% to $189.3 million. Operating profit also increased 3.2% to $32.2 million. As a result, shares traded 9.75% higher in late trading.
2) Timberland (NYSE:TBL): Not to be outdone, the footwear and apparel company saw its shares rise 30% during Thursday trading, and another 1.07% after hours. Fourth quarter net income rose 89% on increased demand. The company reported a net income of $42.1 million (82 cents per share). Revenue also rose by 27% to $491.1 million for the fourth quarter.
3) Liz Claiborne (NYSE:LIZ): Shares were taken to the cleaners on Thursday, falling 7.24% during regular market hours, and only recovering .40% in late trading. The company reported a better-than expected fourth quarter adjusted loss of 3 cents, but analysts were concerned on the company’s disappointing 2012 outlook.
4) Nordstrom (NYSE:JWN): Although profit increased 35% for the fourth quarter, shares still traded down 3% after the bell. Net income for the fourth quarter was $232 million ( $1.04 per share), compared to $172 million (77 cents per share) last year.
