These Alleged Hollywood Predators Should Also Turn Themselves in After Harvey Weinstein

On May 25, 2018, Harvey Weinstein surrendered to the New York City police. He has been charged with first- and third-degree rape, as well as committing a criminal sexual act in the first degree. Following very public and high-profile accusations of rape and sexual assault, Weinstein can only hope for a fair trial. Bill Cosby, another celebrity at the center of the #metoo movement, was found guilty in the spring of 2018 of multiple accounts of sexual assault. So what happens next? Well, here are a few other alleged Hollywood predators who some believe should turn themselves in too.

1. Matt Lauer

November 28, 2017, was a big day at NBC and The Today Show. It was the day uber-popular correspondent Matt Lauer got canned after an NBC colleague made a complaint about his inappropriate sexual behavior. However, it became apparent that Lauer’s actions were far from isolated. In came more allegations — as many as eight. Lauer has already lost his job, and some experts have warned that he could face legal consequences as well, ABC News reported.

In 2017, more than a dozen men came forward to accuse Kevin Spacey of sexual misconduct that ranged from harassment to attempted rape. Many of these individuals were allegedly assaulted while only in their teens. Although Spacey actively denied the allegations, those who have shared their stories also share similarities — groping of genitals in public spaces and restrooms. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in April 2018 that it was reviewing a sexual assault case against the actor, CNN reported.

It appears Mario Batali’s professional career is falling apart in the wake of sexual assault allegations. In May 2018, three of Batali’s Las Vegas Strip restaurants announced they would be closing their doors in July. This all comes after an unidentified woman shared her story on 60 Minutes. Allegedly, Batali drugged and assaulted her. A separate allegation was presented to the NYPD in late 2017. The second woman said she lost consciousness at a New York City restaurant and once she came to, Batali was on top of her.

Once perceived as a Hollywood heartthrob, James Franco is now facing allegations that he is a sexual predator. He has five different sexual assault allegations against him, Rolling Stone reported. One accuser alleged that “in a nude orgy scene she filmed with Franco and several women three years ago, he removed protective plastic guards covering other actresses’ vaginas while simulating oral sex on them.” Franco denies all of the allegations.

By the end of 2017, Dustin Hoffman had been accused of sexual misconduct by three different women. Allegedly Hoffman exposed himself to 16-year-old Cori Thomas and her friend in a hotel room back in 1980. Melissa Kester alleged that he sexually assaulted her at a recording studio in 1987. And an unnamed victim alleged that Hoffman assaulted her in the back of station wagon, eventually forcing her into sexual acts.

Well-known stand-up comedian Louis C.K. has five known sexual misconduct allegations hanging over his head. Comedians Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov alleged that while in Aspen, they accompanied C.K. back to his hotel for one last cocktail. Upon entering the room, Goodman explains to The New York Times that “he proceeded to take all of his clothes off, and get completely naked, and started masturbating.” His other accusers all share similar stories of his unwanted masturbating.

Film director Bryan Singer has been accused by Cesar Sanchez-Guzman of rape. While at a party in Seattle in 2003, the then 17-year-old said he was offered a tour of the boat, courtesy of Singer. During the tour, Singer allegedly raped Sanchez-Guzman. Even though Singer denies the allegations, he is being sued by Sanchez-Guzman for “emotional distress, mental anguish, and physical and mental pain.”

The Weinstein blood runs deep, alongside some pretty entitled characteristics. It’s not just Harvey who has engaged in sexual misconduct and lewd behaviors — so has his little brother, Bob. Amanda Segel, producer of Spike TV’s The Mist, has accused the younger Weinstein of sexual harassment, claiming that it wasn’t until Segel’s attorney threatened Bob that he finally quit propositioning her.
