This State Loves Donald Trump But Has the Worst Economy in America

Although some people aren’t big fans of Donald Trump, there are states where the president’s approval ratings are quite good. However, many of these states are struggling financially. One state in particular loves Donald Trump but has the worst economy in America.

Here are the worst state economies according to WalletHub. We’ll also give you a rundown of Trump’s approval ratings in each of these states using data from Morning Consult.

10. New Mexico

  • Economic activity rank: 45
  • Economic health rank: 50
  • Donald Trump’s approval rating: 41%

New Mexico received an overall score of 35.20 on a scale of 1 to 51 (51 is worst). Economic activity is on the low side, with a score of 45. Economic health is also suffering in this state, receiving the second-worst score of 50. Scores were slightly improved when it came to innovation potential, with a score of 19. Furthermore, New Mexico had one of the highest unemployment rates, receiving a 50, almost the worst score on the scale.

Scores weren’t so great when it came to innovation potential, with a score of 44. Furthermore, The Aloha State has the lowest median annual household income, receiving a 51, the worst score on the scale.

Furthermore, Oklahoma has one of the fewest exports per capita, receiving a 50, almost the worst score on the scale.

Economic health is better, with a score of 15. Scores for innovation potential left a lot to be desired. Wallet Hub gave the state a score of 46. Furthermore, South Dakota has the lowest average educational attainment among recent immigrants, receiving a score of 49.

Scores for innovation potential weren’t so hot. Wallet Hub gave the state a disappointing score of 48. Furthermore, Maine is among the states with the lowest annual median household income, receiving a score of 48.
