Toyota Motor, Medco, Pentair, Phillips-Van Heusen Among 52-Week High Movers Wednesday

Toyota Motor Corp (NYSE:TM): Toyota sold over 1,200 of its new subcompact hybrid Prius c in the car’s first three days on the market, which an Edmunds.com analyst said was more than Smart fortwo and Toyota’s own Scion XD sold in total last month, reported The Los Angeles Times. The analyst said the car could take share in the subcompact market, which includes Honda’s (NYSE:HMC) Fit and Ford’s (NYSE:F) Fiesta. The shares closed at $86.70, up $1.06 or 1.24% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $60.37 to $86.00.

Knology (NASDAQ:KNOL): Regional cable operator WideOpenWest, which is owned by Avista Capital, may bid for Knology (NASDAQ:KNOL), reported Dow Jones, citing sources, though the contacts did not reveal the terms such a deal. The report noted that The Wall Street Journal previously said Knology could go for up to $1.5B at auction. The shares closed at $18.38, up $0.28 or 1.55% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $12.19 to $19.34.

Medcohealth Solution (NYSE:MHS): Medco overall option implied volatility of 35 is near its 26-week average of 37 according to Track Data, suggesting non-directional price movement on Express Scripts (NASDAQ:ESRX) and Medco saying the merger could close next week. The shares closed at $71.20, up $2.21 or 3.2% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $44.60 to $70.97.

Pentair (NYSE:PNR): William Blair upgraded Pentair citing potential acceleration in earnings growth following the merger with Tyco’s flow control unit. The shares closed at $46.32, up $6.06 or 15.05% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $29.73 to $42.43.

Phillips-Van Heusen (NYSE:PVH): Says could exceed projections if business trends continue. The shares closed at $88.64, down $1.17 or 1.3% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $51.15 to $92.13.
