UnitedHealth Stumbles Despite Q3 Gains and 2 Other Dow Movers to Watch

UnitedHealth shares are down by almost 5 percent Friday, even though it gained on both its top and bottom lines during the third quarter. The United States’ number-one publicly traded health insurer increased its revenue by an impressive 12 percent for the quarter, surpassing the revenue growth it reported for the first half of the year. Besides that, UnitedHealth was able to grow its income by 1 percent, and equaled Wall Street’s projections on earnings per share.


The Walt Disney Co. (NYSE:DIS): Current price $67.02

The online video service Hulu appointed Fox executive Mike Hopkins as its new chief executive on Thursday, putting to an end speculation regarding the firm’s leadership during a period of expansion. Back in July, Hulu’s owners The Walt Disney Co., 21st Century Fox, and Comcast Corp. said that they had called off their second attempt in three years to divest it, and would instead invest an additional $750 million to ensure its future growth.


The Coca-Cola Co. (NYSE:KO): Current price $38.44

The Coca-Cola Foundation has awarded a total sum of $8.1 million to 47 community organizations during the third quarter. Through these grants, 3.8 million people worldwide will now have increased access to personal well-being, environmental, and community empowerment programs. Chair Lisa M. Borders of The Coca-Cola Foundation observed that, “The health and well-being of our families and communities concern everyone. We are taking an active role working with grassroots community organizations to find solutions to those major issues affecting our world today.”
