Utilities Sector Review: U.K. Solar Power Subsidies, PG&E
Suntech Power Hldgs. Co (NYSE:STP): The U.K. government has tightened its restrictions for solar panel subsidies after its plans were adopted by more people than expected, and participants will now have to do more to qualify for the full tariff, reported Financial Times.
The shares closed at $3.37, down $0.09, or 2.6%, on the day. Its market capitalization is $606.84 million.
Duke Energy Corporation (NYSE:DUK): The 2011 was helped by modernization program, international unit results.
The shares closed at $21.10, up $0.23, or 1.1%, on the day. Its market capitalization is $28.12 billion.
Exelon Corporation (NYSE:EXC): Exelon Corporation (NYSE:EXC) and Constellation Energy (NYSE:CEG) announced that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued a series of orders approving the indirect transfer of certain nuclear licenses associated with the Exelon and Constellation Energy merger. With the NRC approval, we move ever closer to the consummation of this transaction, said Constellation.
The shares closed at $39.50, up $0.41, or 1.05%, on the day. Its market capitalization is $26.21 billion.
PG&E Corporation (NYSE:PCG): PG&E reaffirms FY FY12 EPS $3.10-$3.30 vs. consensus $3.21.
The shares closed at $42.30, up $0.85, or 2.05%, on the day. Its market capitalization is $17.17 billion.
