Veterans Day 2018 Freebies: These Stores and Restaurants Are Offering Deals for Military Members

Veterans Day 2018 is here, and many restaurants and stores have special promotions to honor those who’ve served.

This year, Veterans Day falls on a Sunday, November 11, but will be observed in many places on Monday. Some deals will be available both days, while others will only be offered on Sunday.

If you’re a veteran or an active-duty member of the military, check out these Veterans Day 2018 freebies.

Free meals for vets

This year, numerous chains are offering free meals to those who’ve served. Here are some spots where veterans can eat for free on Sunday and Monday.

Applebee’s is inviting all active-duty military and vets to enjoy a free meal on Sunday, November 11. Vets can choose from one of eight menu items, including a bacon cheeseburger and fiesta lime chicken, at participating locations.

Bob Evans diners who are vets or active-duty can choose from one of six free meals on Sunday, including country-fried steak and brioche French toast.

Buffalo Wild Wings is celebrating veterans and active-duty military by giving them a free small order of wings and fries on November 11.

On Sunday, veterans and military who visit a Chili’s can choose from one of seven free entrees, including margarita grilled chicken and Cajun chicken pasta.

On Sunday, Dunkin’ is giving away a sweet treat to those who’ve served – veterans and military can get a free donut at participating locations.

At Famous Dave’s, veterans and current military can get a free “2 Meat Salute” with a side and a cornbread muffin on November 11 and 12.

O’Charley’s is giving away free $9.99 entrees to veterans and military members on Sunday and Monday.

Starbucks: Veterans, active-duty military, and military spouses can get a free 12-ounce coffee on Sunday.

Vets who visit a White Castle can get a free combo meal on November 11 and 12 at participating locations.

Other deals for veterans

Many other businesses are honoring veterans with discounts this Veterans Day.

Military members, veterans, and their spouses can see the movie First Man, about the life of Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong, for free on November 12 at a participating Cinemark theater. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be picked up at the box office.

Some bed and breakfasts are giving veterans a free night’s stay for the holiday weekend. Visit B&Bs for Vets for more details.

Goodyear Auto Service and Just Tires will provide free “checks for vets” for members of the U.S. military and first responders. The company will donate $5 to Folds of Honor for every check performed. Vets can also get a 10% discount on tires.

Every year, Great Clips stylists give free haircuts to veterans and current servicemembers. You can get your hair cut on Sunday, November 11, or just stop in to pick a card for a free haircut to be used at a later date.

Walgreens is giving veterans, military, and their families 20% off of all in-store purchases made with a Balance Rewards card from November 9 through November 11.

America’s National Parks are waiving entrance fees for all visitors on November 11. Members of the military are also eligible for free national parks passes that can be used year-round.

Through the end of November, Realtor.com and Veterans United Home Loans are running a home giveaway contest for veterans. The winner of the New Home for the Holidays drawing will get $200,000 toward the purchase of their home. You can enter here. 

How to get your Veterans Day freebies

Most deals require you to show your military ID or other proof of service. Offers may vary by location, so check with your local restaurant or store to confirm.
