Vodafone Awaits Shareholder Verdict on Kabel Deutschland Takeover and 2 Other Hot Stocks to Watch

Vodafone Group PLC (NASDAQ:VOD): Current price $23.10

The deadline for Vodafone’s shareholders to approve its takeover of the cable operator Kabel Deutschland is set for 6 p.m. in New York on Wednesday (or midnight Central European Time). The U.K. telecom player proposes to acquire the German cable giant for 7.7 billion euros, or $10.1 billion, and though the bid is supported by Kabel’s board, Vodafone still seems to be considerably short of the threshold of 75 percent required by the company’s shareholder votes for approval.


Delta Air Lines Inc. (NYSE:DAL): Current Price $22.47

The Seahawks and Sounders Football Club of Seattle announced that Delta Air Lines will serve as the official airline partner for both teams; the club level at CenturyLink Field will also be renamed Delta Sky360 Club. Delta will receive various signage and branding positions throughout the stadium.


General Electric Co. (NYSE:GE): Current price $23.90

GE Capital Fleet Services said Wednesday that it is releasing new tech enhancements for customers as part of a buildup to the intro of its new fleet management platform later in 2013. The enhancements for fleet managers will at first be available on a limited release for select customers; they feature advanced tools for cost management, customization, search, factory ordering, compliance, driver messaging, re-marketing, and data integration. GE will provide broader availability of its new tools and platform later this year.
