Volkswagen October Sales Pop 22.4% and 2 Must-See Hot Stocks

Supply chain management software and services firm JDA Software (NASDAQ:JDAS) is to be acquired by privately held supply chain software company RedPrairie in a $1.9 billion deal that pays $45 in cash for each share in JDAS. “This is a strong combination of two leading companies with highly complementary product suites,” JDA’s Chief Executive Hamish Brewer said in a statement.

October US sales for Volkswagen (VLKAY.PK) grew 22.4% to 34,311 vehicles driven by strong sales for its Passat, Tiguan and Jetta models. The last named topped the volume charts with sales of 11,253 units. The monthly performance was the best ever in the month of October since 1972.

Chrysler’s (FIATY.PK) US sales in October rose 10% to 126,185 vehicles with Chrysler higher by 5%, Dodge up 20% and the Ram Truck up by 17%. Sales of Fiat rose a whopping 89% while the Jeep brand declined by 5% year-on-year.
