ViroPharma Inc. (NASDAQ:VPHM) sees the FDA deny its citizen petition which was filed March 17, 2006. The petition was in regards to the proposed in vitro method for determining bioequivalence of abbreviated new drug applications referencing Vancocin Capsules. ViroPharma was also told by the FDA that a final guidance for vancomycin bioequivalence consistent with the FDA’s citizen petition response is forthcoming.

Renren Inc (NYSE:RENN) has reached an agreement with Japan’s Soapdish, in which food photos will be shared through an iOS app.

Targacept, Inc. (NASDAQ:TRGT) presented its revised top-line results from its exploratory Phase 2 clinical study of TC-6987 in asthma. A re-evaluation of the data was begun, subsequent to the identification of an error in the application of the agreed statistical analysis plan.

Sony Corporation (NYSE:SNE) has modified its consolidated results forecast for the fiscal year ended March 31 from that announced on February 2. An aggregate additional charge of around Y300B in tax expense in its fourth quarter will be taken, mostly as a result of the establishment of valuation allowances against certain deferred tax assets, which are mostly in the U.S.
