Will EA’s New iOS App Bother These Top Institutional Shareholders?

Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA) has strayed from its path, just a bit: the titan videogame publisher has released an iOS app that allows users to pair up music with photos, effectively creating slideshows that the user can then share with friends — a far cry from its core business. With Vue, as it is called, the user can find songs for your photos on music services such as Rdio and Spotify. They can create “living shows” and share them with friends, add text, pin Google maps to them, and throw in special effects. If you make changes to your photos stored on Facebook, those changes can instantly show up in your “vues,” VentureBeat said. It added that it is likely a low-budget exploratory project that started with the EA Partners group, though EA declined to comment.

These institutional firms indicated owning shares of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) in Q1 2013. The shares closed at $17.70 on 03/31/2013.
