Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT): Microsoft has added ZTE as a licensed Android partner, following the signing of Foxconn recently. According to legal counsel Horacio Gutierrez, “80 percent of Android smartphones sold in the U.S. and a majority of those sold worldwide are covered under agreements with Microsoft,” he wrote in a blog post. Android royalties are now a roughly $1 billion quarterly cash in-flow for the company, while its native Windows Phone royalties remain marginal in comparison.
