Yahoo Gets Original with New Animated Series

Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) announced on Monday that it has chosen Tom Hanks’ long-awaited animated web project “Electric City” as its first original scripted series.

The cartoon will premiere in the spring with 20 three-to-four minute episodes. Yahoo, along with Hanks and production partners Playtone and Reliance Entertainment, will officially announce the series’ debut on Tuesday at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
