Yahoo Joins Hands with Disney to Rejuvenate Content Quest
Yahoo Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) has joined hands with Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) owned ABC to source the network’s news content – amongst other news, a “highly interactive” version of ABC’s Good Morning America program would appear on Yahoo’s internet portal.
Yahoo said that ABC would be the premier news provider on Yahoo News. The two organizations boast of a combined viewership of about a 100 million viewers.
Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) has been in the news for its abrupt sacking of CEO Carol Bartz last month and rumors of bidders circling to acquire the Internet major after a sustained run down in its stock price and a steady downturn in its search advertising business. Reportedly, one of the bidders interested is Alibaba Chief Jack Ma, an organization in which Yahoo itself holds a significant stake.
Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) is trading at $13.57 today, up 3.04%. Shares are down 7.71% in one year. The stock’s trading range for the year is between $11.09 and $18.84.
