The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Yahoo and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) have been in talks over a deeper partnership concerning the iPhone and iPad, say sources. Shares closed up 1.40 percent on Tuesday at $23.83, and have been traded in a 52-week range of $14.59 to $24.00.

Splunk (NASDAQ:SPLK): Closing price $40.45

On Tuesday, the software platform announced version 5.0 of the Splunk App for Windows, which provides enterprise-class monitoring for Microsoft Windows Server. The Splunk App for Windows allows users to monitor their end-to-end infrastructure to prevent outages and pinpoint performance issues in moments. The new application will be demonstrated this week at the Microsoft Management Summit in Las Vegas in the Splunk booth. Shares closed up 1.48 percent on the day at $40.45, having been traded between $25.15 and $40.65.

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp., reported that it has signed a Letter of Interest with the Brazilian Instituto Tecnologico de Aeronautica through which to establish a Rotorcraft Innovation Team. Considered one of the top universities in Brazil in engineering and related fields, ITA is a federal government institution focussed upon providing high level education and research in the fields of Aerospace, Science and Technology. Shares closed up 0.79 percent on Tuesday at $94.45, and have been traded in a 52-week range of $70.71 to $94.58.
