Yahoo’s Tumblr Executive to Ring Nasdaq Bell and 2 More Heavily Traded Stocks to Follow

Yahoo’s recent acquisition, blogging platform Tumblr, will visit the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square on Thursday in celebration of Yahoo’s purchase. To commemorate the occasion, Tumblr founder and CEO David Karp will ring the opening bell.


Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. (NASDAQ:GMCR): Current price $70.09

Zacks Investment Research on Tuesday upgraded GMCR to a Strong Buy because the company obtained a number of strategic alliances with its peer beverage majors for its single-serve Keurig brewers and K-cups. Since March, Green Mountain has recruited more and more beverage firms into its Keurig distribution system so as to increase the popularity of its single-serve brewer. In March, it created a strategic alliance with Unilever, through which Lipton iced teas will be available in the K-cups of GMCR’s Keurig business division.


Huntington Bancshares (NASDAQ:HBAN): Current price $8.27

The company announced Wednesday that Harry Farver has been appointed chief auditor. Farver has been serving as interim chief auditor, and will report directly to the audit committee of the Huntington board. He will continue to oversee internal audit functions and work with the board and the bank’s executive leadership team regarding audit and control matters. Farver joined Huntington three years ago as director of accounting operations.
