Zynga Blitzed By Buffalo Studios Over Bingo Game
Buffalo Studios, following on the heels of the developer Nimblebit, is accusing Zynga (NASDAQ:ZNGA) of copying one of its popular Facebook games. Last week, Nimblebit brought up similarities between its game, Tiny Tower, with Zynga’s upcoming game, Dream Heights. Now Buffalo Studios is pointing out that Zynga’s new bingo game is uncomfortably similar to its award-winning game, Bingo Blitz.
Buffalo Studios has produced infographics that point out how Zynga’s game is similar in appearance, game play, and layout to their preexisting game. Buffalo launched the game about one year ago and now has about 1 million players daily, making it the number 1 bingo game on Facebook. The company was founded in 2010, and Bingo Blitz is thus far its only game.
Over the weekend, another company Spry Fox filed suit against 6waves Lolapps for copyright infringement over its game Triple Town. Thus far neither Nimblebit or Buffalo Studios have taken any legal actions against Zynga.
Here’s how Zynga shares are reacting to the news:
