Comcast’s (NASDAQ:CMCSA) NBCUniversal steals a comprehensive march in ratings over CBS (NYSE:CBS) during the first ten nights of Olympics coverage – its lead being the largest in Nielsen’s history. Moreover, Comcast’s coverage draws an average of 33.6 million primetime viewers, a significant increase of 12.4 percent over the 2008 Beijing Games. Its Today show also marched ahead of Good Morning America for the first time in five weeks,  sealing its superiority in ratings over CBS.

As expected, newly-installed Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) CEO, Marissa Mayer has focused on product development particularly in ‘happening’ areas such as mobile, social and local services. She reportedly also wants to revamp Yahoo Search, but how this will impact Yahoo’s deal with Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is not yet ascertainable.
