The bottom line is investors, shareholders and traders LOVE the bottom line, also referred to as profits. Corporate profits, among other variables, is the key driver of stock prices. Here’s our Cheat Sheet to the Dow 30 Earnings Recap from the latest earnings season which began October 11th, 2011:

Alcoa (NYSE:AA) reported on October 11th. The consensus analyst earnings estimate was for $.23 cents per share and $6.24 billion in revenue. AA missed earnings estimates by $.08 and delivered $.15 cents per share.

American Express (NYSE:AXP) reported on October 19th. The consensus analyst earnings estimate was for $.96 cents per share and $7.58 billion in revenue AXP beat earnings estimates by $.07 and delivered $1.03 cents per share.

Boeing (NYSE:BA) reported on October 26th. Analysts were expecting an average report of $1.10 per share in profit and $18.03 billion in revenue. BA beat earnings estimates by $.36 and delivered $1.46 per share.

Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) reported on October 18th. Analysts were expecting an average report of a $.19 per share in profit and $25.67 billion in revenue. BAC beat by $.37 per share and delivered $.56 per share.

Caterpillar, Inc (NYSE:CAT) reported on October 24th. The consensus analyst earnings estimate was for $1.55 cents per share and $15 billion in revenue. CAT beat earnings estimates by $.16 per share and delivered $1.71 per share.

Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO) reported on November 9th. Analysts were expecting an average report of $.39 per share in profit and $11.02 billion in revenue. CSCO beat earnings estimates by $.04 per share and delivered $.43 per share.

Chevron (NYSE:CVX): reported on October 28th. Analysts were expecting an average report of $3.48 per share in profit and $70.43 billion in revenue. CVX beat earnings estimates by $.19 per share and delivered $3.67 per share.

E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company (NYSE:DD) reported on October 25th. The consensus analyst earnings estimate was for $.56 cents per share and $8.71 billion in revenue. DD beat earnings estimates by $.13 per share and delivered $.69 per share.

Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) reported on November 10th. The consensus analyst earnings estimate was for $.54 cents per share and $10.39 billion in revenue. DIS beat earnings estimates by $.05 per share and delivered $.59 per share.

General Electric (NYSE:GE) reported on October 21st. The consensus analyst earnings estimate was for $.31 cents per share and $34.84 billion in revenue. GE beat met estimates and delivered $.31 per share.

Home Depot (NYSE:HD) reported on November 15th. Analysts were expecting an average report of $.58 per share in profit and $17.10 billion in revenue. HD beat earnings estimates by $.02 and delivered $.60 per share.

Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ) reported on November 21st. The consensus analyst earnings estimate was for $1.13 cents per share and $32.12 billion in revenue. HPQ beat earnings estimates by $.04 per share and delivered $1.17 per share.

International Business Machines (NYSE:IBM) reported on October 17th. Analysts were expecting an average report of $3.22 per share in profit and $26.27 billion in revenue. IBM beat earnings estimates by $.06 per share and delivered $3.28 per share.

Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) reported on October 18th. The consensus analyst earnings estimate was for $.61 cents per share and $13.90 billion in revenue. INTC beat earnings estimates by $.04 per share and delivered $.65 per share.

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) reported on October 18th. The consensus analyst earnings estimate was for $1.21 cents per share and $16.04 billion in revenue. JNJ beat earnings estimates by $.03 per share and delivered $1.24 per share.

JP Morgan Chase (NYSE:JPM) reported on October 13th. Analysts were expecting an average report of $.91 per share in profit and $23.97 billion in revenue. JPM beat earnings estimates by $.11 per share and delivered $1.02 per share.

Kraft (NYSE:KFT) reported on October 31st. Analysts were expecting an average report of $.55 per share in profit and $12.81 billion in revenue. KFT beat earnings estimates by $.03 per share and delivered $.58 per share.

Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) reported on October 18th. The consensus analyst earnings estimate was for $1.02 cents per share and $12.06 billion in revenue. KO beat earnings estimates by $.01 per share and delivered $1.03 per share.

McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) reported on October 21st. Analysts were expecting an average report of $1.43 per share in profit and $7.02 billion in revenue. MCD beat earnings estimates by $.02 per share and delivered $1.45 per share.

3M Company (NYSE:MMM) reported on October 25th. The consensus analyst earnings estimate was for $1.61 cents per share and $7.78 billion in revenue. MMM missed earnings estimates by $.09 per share and delivered $1.52 per share.

Merck (NYSE:MRK) reported on October 28th. Analysts were expecting an average report of $.91 per share in profit and $11.59 billion in revenue. MRK beat earnings estimates by $.03 per share and delivered $.94 per share.

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) reported on October 20th. The consensus analyst earnings estimate is for $.68 cents per share and $17.26 billion in revenue. MSFT met earnings estimates and delivered $.68 per share.

Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) reported on November 1st. Analysts were expecting an average report of $.56 per share in profit and $16.43 billion in revenue. PFE beat earnings estimates by $.06 per share and delivered $.62 per share.

Proctor & Gamble (NYSE:PG) reported on October 27th. Analysts were expecting an average report of $1.03 per share in profit and $21.56 billion in revenue. PG met earnings estimates and delivered $1.03 per share.

AT&T (NYSE:T) reported on October 20th. Analysts were expecting an average report of $.61 per share in profit and $31.63 billion in revenue. T were in-line with earnings estimates of $.61 per share.

The Traveler’s Companies (NYSE:TRV) reported on October 19th. The consensus analyst earnings estimate was for a $.87  per share in profit and $5.58 billion in revenue. TRV missed earnings estimates by $.08 per share and delivered $.79 per share.

United Technologies Corp (NYSE:UTX) reported on October 19th. The consensus analyst earnings estimate was for $1.44 cents per share and $14.55 billion in revenue. UTX beat earnings estimates by $.03 per share and delivered $1.47 per share.

Exxon Mobil Corp (NYSE:XOM) reported on October 27th. Analysts were expecting an average report of $2.12 per share in profit and $122.47 billion in revenue. XOM beat earnings estimates by $.01 per share and delivered $2.13 per share.

Only 4 out of the 30 Dow components missed earnings in the latest quarter. The U.S. earnings season was a strong one, amidst a turbulent global environment.
