There are several favorable fantasy matchups all around the league in Week 10. Finding the right matchups at this point in the fantasy season can be the difference in making or missing the playoffs. With six teams on bye weeks this week, some of the usual big-name fantasy players will be on the couch instead of on the field this Sunday. Here is a look at five players with favorable fantasy matchups in Week 10.

1.  Mychal Rivera, tight end, Oakland Raiders

Rivera is likely the only player on the Raiders other than Sebastian Janikowski with any real fantasy value at this point in the season. While he is not quite an every-down type of tight end, he does present a mismatch in the passing game that might be exploitable against the Denver Broncos in Week 10. The Broncos have given up big games to tight ends Antonio Gates and Rob Gronkowski in Week 8 and Week 9, and have had issues defending tight ends all year. Combine this with the fact that the Raiders will likely be trailing for most of this game, which will force them to throw the ball more than they typically would. Rivera has been targeted 20 times over the last two weeks, and that trend should continue against the Broncos in Week 10.

2.  Cam Newton, quarterback, Carolina Panthers

Newton has been a bit of a fantasy disappointment thus far in 2014, but in Week 10 he has a quarterback-friendly matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. The Eagles are giving up an average of 256 passing yards and just over two touchdown passes per game to opposing quarterbacks in 2014. This game looks destined to be a shootout as both defenses have struggled throughout the 2014 season. Newton is the clear-cut focal point of the Panthers offense, and this matchup should present ample fantasy scoring opportunities for the Carolina quarterback.

3.  Matt Ryan, quarterback, Atlanta Falcons

Ryan has had a solid, not spectacular season in terms of fantasy production in 2014. In Week 10, Ryan has a highly favorable matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Tampa Bay defense has been giving up an average of 285 passing yards and over two touchdown passes per game in 2014. Ryan still has one of the best wide receiver combinations in the game, and looks poised for a big fantasy output in Week 10. Let’s not forget, Ryan carved up the Tampa Bay defense in Week 3, throwing for 286 yards and three touchdowns.

4.  Andre Ellington, running back, Arizona Cardinals

Ellington has been one of the best all-around running backs in the NFL this season, and his fantasy production reflects that. In Week 10, the Cardinals face a St. Louis Rams defense that is giving up 136.3 yards and one touchdown on the ground per game in 2014. Expect the Cardinals to feed the ball to Ellington early and often in this game, and don’t be surprised if he responds with a huge fantasy week.

5.  Ronnie Hillman, running back, Denver Broncos

Even with the possible return of Montee Ball, Hillman has earned the right to be the main running back in Denver. Since taking over the starting running back job for the Broncos, Hillman has carried the ball 68 times for 299 yards and three touchdowns in four games. He has also proven to be a threat catching the ball out of the backfield with 17 catches for 121 yards and one touchdown over that stretch. Hillman has the opportunity to go up against a dreadful Oakland Raiders defense in Week 10. The Raiders have given up 132.5 yards and 1.13 touchdowns on the ground per game in 2014. Expect the Broncos offense to be on a mission following their so-so performance against the New England Patriots in Week 9, and expect around 20 touches for Hillman in Week 10.

6.  Julio Jones, wide receiver, Atlanta Falcons

Jones looks primed for another huge game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10. The Bucs have been horrid against the pass in 2014, and simply have nobody on their roster who can matchup against Jones. While he may not match his output from his Week 3 game against Tampa Bay (nine catches, 162 yards, two touchdowns), expect him to be targeted often and to put up another huge fantasy day in Week 10.
