DuPont (NYSE:DD): Following Nelson Peltz’s disclosure that he bought a large stake in DuPont, Oppenheimer thinks the stock is worth only in the low $60s range, based on sum of the parts valuation, versus its closing price yesterday at $57.25. The firm keeps a Perform rating on the shares.
American Express (NYSE:AXP): Susquehanna has downgraded American Express to Neutral from Positive, based primarily on valuation and concerns regarding recent European legislation.
Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT): JPMorgan believes that the risk/reward on shares of Caterpillar favors owning the name, following Wednesday’s pullback on the heels of negative comments from James Chanos. The firm believes downside at this point is limited, and keeps an Overweight rating on the stock.
