Put Your Money on These NFL Teams to Win Super Bowl LIII in 2019
With Super Bowl behind us and only a little while to go before the season fires up again, we have our sights set on Super Bowl 53. The real question is, with so much turmoil in the league, who is going to take the crown next year?
We took a look at some of the leagues best teams and this is what we’ve come up with and you should put your money on these NFL teams to win the Super Bowl in 2019 (plus the one you definitely shouldn’t, see page 8).
I know what you’re probably thinking right now, and we have not lost our mind. The Chargers were actually great defensively last year. In the AFC, they were fifth overall in point differential. Additionally and more significantly is that they were also No. 2 when it came to defensive scoring. Lastly, they also have a ridiculously easy schedule that includes matchups against some of the worst teams in the NFL.
Next: They will always be a threat and you can never doubt them.
Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are the best QB/Coach matchup the sport has ever seen. Together they have been to 10 Super Bowls and have won five. Individually they have 12 rings between the two of them. The only thing that may be hurting that franchise right now is the inner turmoil that the team is going through that could end up toppling the dynasty.
Next: The first team to represent the NFC West, but not the last in this list.
They don’t call the NFC West the “NFC Best” for nothing. The Rams are in one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL. They have made significant strides since completing their relocation to LA (Shocker). If you do end up putting money on them, they are getting a 20/1 payout for a Super Bowl championship.
Next: This team could have gone all the way if they didn’t lose their QB.
The Texans are nothing short of resilient when it comes to the NFL. They are the only team to have gone to the playoffs with four different quarterbacks in one season (Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallett, T.J. Yates and Brandon Weeden). If they can keep Deshaun Watson away from injury and secure a couple more offensive threats, they are going to be a terror in the NFC South in 2018.
Next: They are probably the least likely team to see on this list.
It’s hard to believe that a team coming off a season record of 6-10 could be considered contenders for the Super Bowl. Yet, the Niners have positioned themselves with an incredible quarterback and secured some of their own divisions biggest defensive threats. Barring any complications, you will definitely see them in the later rounds of the playoffs, if not the Super Bowl.
Next: Repeats have been doen before.
The Eagles are coming off a hot season and a Super Bowl victory. They have a lot of talent but have made some bold moves in free agency. That being said, if they can avoid the NFL injury bug that went around last year, they should be really good contenders for next years Super Bowl.
Next: They will go marching on.
The storied tale of Sean Payton and Drew Brees has a couple more years left in it. It is very likely the two will be sharing in the franchises second Super Bowl victory in 2019. Aside from their talent, they also have two incredible weapons in Alvin Kamara and Marshon Lattimore. Both were voted rookies of the year in 2018.
Next: Whatever you do, bet against this team.
The Packers will not go to the Super Bowl
Even if the Packers are early 2018 favorites, stay away from the Packers. They 12/1 odds in sportsbooks and ranked at No. 4. But the Packers have a serious problem in their defense. They were the second-worst team in point differential behind the Giants. Passers had a 67.8% completion rate and threw for over 4,000 yards. The simple fact is that they won’t be able to fix the problems on their defense that quick. They are in a rebuilding season and no one sees it.
