Alcoa ANNOUNCES New VP and 3 Hot Stocks Gaining Momentum

Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) CEO Reed Hastings brought up the possibility of a partnership with Time Warner’s (NYSE:TWX) HBO, but an HBO spokesman states that the company does not plan to work with Netflix, according to Reuters. Shares of Netflix, Inc. are trading 23.77% lower today.

Riverbed Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:RVBD): Today, Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR), the industry leader in network innovation, and Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the performance company, announced a technology parntership in optimization of wide area network, (WAN), application delivery and mobility to provide market-leading technologies for enterprises intending to increase their IT infrastructures’ efficiency and deliver better performance of applications across devices, networks, and clouds securely. Shares of Riverbed Technology, Inc. are trading 26.63% higher today.

Buffalo Wild Wings (NASDAQ:BWLD) Q2 profit increased 9.3 percent, but the sales boost at established restaurants was not able to offset the stubbornly expensive chicken-wing prices for the year. Last year, the Minneapolis-based sports bar and grill chain saw benefits from low chicken-wing costs as its competitors who rely on beef were faced with record-high prices. As of now, increasing prices for bone-in wings, which accounts for nearly one-fifth of its commodity costs, threaten the profitability of the restaurant. For Q2, Buffalo Wild Wings reported an $11.7 million profit, or 62 cents per share, which is up from $10.7 million, or 58 cents per share, the previous year. Also, revenue has risen 30 percent reaching $238.7 million. Shares of Buffalo Wild Wings are trading 11.63% lower today.

Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA): announced that Ms Michelle O’Neill has been named Vice President, Government Affairs and Trade Policy, and will take the new position on August 20. Shares of Alcoa Inc. are unchanged today.
