Comcast Partners With Colorado Children’s Campaign and 4 Media Titans Making Waves

Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX):  Netflix Inc., which has exclusive rights to the upcoming season of the comedy series “Arrested Development,” announced a promotional contest. The contest, hosted at, will give six people the chance to win a walk-on part for the series. The contest uses social media including Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr along with the site’s own entry form to allow fans in the United States to submit an original piece of “Arrested Development” content.

Coinstar, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSTR):  According to Bloombertg, Coinstar, Inc., with their $1-a-day Redbox DVD kiosks, is now turning to the coffee market by installing dispensers to pump out inexpensive, fresh-brewed mochas and lattes at the corner store using Starbucks’s (NASDAQ:SBUX) Seattle’s Best brand.

Walt Disney Co. (NYSE:DIS): Cablevision (NYSE:CVC) and the Disney Company announced a distribution agreement that will deliver Disney’s line-up of sports, news and entertainment content to Cablevision TV customers across television, Internet, tablets and handheld devices. As part of the new multi-year agreement, Cablevision will launch several new services including the full suite of authenticated WATCH products, ESPN3 and ESPN 3D, as well as the upcoming ABC News/Univision Joint Venture, a 24/7 news, information and lifestyle multi-platform network for English-dominant and bilingual Hispanics. Cablevision will also provide their TV customers with broad access to expanded On Demand content through Disney’s comprehensive TV+ initiative.

Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA):  Comcast Corporation partnered with the Colorado Children’s Campaign at their 2012 Annual Luncheon today to announce the second year of Internet Essentials, an ambitious and comprehensive broadband adoption program, designed to help close the digital divide for low-income Americans. During their first full year of availability, more than 100,000 families or 400,000 Americans were online and Comcast continues to enhance the program with new features and processes designed to accelerate enrollment in the program.

Viacom, Inc. (NYSE:VIA):  Zeebox announced that Viacom, Inc. has signed on as a strategic partner, joining Comcast Cable (NASDAQ:CMCSA), NBC Universal, Time Warner’s (NYSE:TWX), HBO & Cinemax in backing their universal, cross-channel, TV viewing companion app for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android, and the Web.
